An Invitation to Intimacy with James Ford, Roshi

James Ishmael Ford, Roshi, was ordained a Soto Zen priest in 1969. He received dharma transmission from Jiyu Kennett, Roshi, in 1971. For many years he studied with John Tarrant, Roshi, and received Inka Shomei from him in 2005. Today he is Senior Guiding Teacher Emeritus with Boundless Way Zen and the senior priest at Blue Cliff Zen, a network of practice groups in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania. he has authored five books including Zen Master Who?, If You're Lucky, Your Heart Will Break, and most recently Introduction to Zen Koans: Learning the Language of Dragons.
